Ms M teams up with legend Rod Stewart, and lends her pipes to a duet on his latest release of the American Songbook series. This one entitled Stardust... The Great Amereican Songbook Vol III, was released on October 12, 2004 and as well as the duet Manhattan with Miss M, also has a duet with the Diva of Country, Ms. Dolly Parton. As everything seems to relate back to Bette in a fan's world, the track Dolly and Rod are singing is "Baby it's Cold outside", which you all know Ms. M sang in For The Boys.

Yet another classic Ms. M movie is coming to DVD. Launch is slated for Dec 7. While alot of bad press came out of this movie, I still found it had it's moments, just too bad the cast didn't always see eye to eye.

ANOTHER WIVES MOVIE... THIS ONE... From STEPFORD
That's right folks... June 11, 2004, the Stepford Wives premieres. A cast to die for. This version, based on the classic, will be dark as was the original, but Bette has commented that this movie is done in a comedic style. Should be amazing... DON"T MISS IT...Faith Hill, Glenn Close, Matthew Brodrick, Nicole Kidman and more... all teamed up with Bette. For those of you familiar with the original... She plays the role of Bobby.

Bette Midler Sings the Rosemary Clooney Songbook IS a HIT!! WOOHOOO. The Rosemary Clooney Songbook started on the Charts at No. 14. Two weeks later, the CD was still in the Top 25. As well is it still at #10 on the Billboard charts for Top Internet Sale Albums, and 68 on the top 200.

The Stepford Wives is underway
Filming is underway! More news on the cast. Good news for us Bette Midler fans. Originally John and Joan Cusack were to be in the flick together, but both had to bow out, and Bette and Matthew Brodrick stepped in. Also included are Glenn Close, Christopher Walken, Nicole Kidman, and Failt Hill. The Director is Frank OZ. WOW!!!
Filming began late June in New York, a 3 month push back from original date of Mar.
Haven't seen the original and just can't wait till this one comes out? RENT IT! Here's a cool little site that goes into detail about the original.

Now, I've seen variations on this, and different orders for the tunes, Thanks to Jude who tipped me off to go a huntin' to see what I could find. This list is the most common I've found. Here's hoping! It looks AMAZING.


A Tour and a CD, and a Remake!!!
NY Times ran an article that stated MS. M was not only planning a tour kick off for the FALL 2003, but that she's in studio working with none other than the Divine Mr. Manilow on a new CD of Rosemary Clooney material. HOW DIVINE!

The article also talked of Bette just signing on to do "The Stepford Wives." Production to start in June. Costars? GET THIS... Nicole Kidman and Glenn Close.

Just goes to show, when MS. M jumps back in, it's with both feet! And I don't doubt in and amongst all this she'll be upto her green thumbs in work with NYRP. No wonder people cal her the hardest workin' woman in the Biz!
PS. Nothing on Hello Dolly, it may have just been a rumor!

Ms. M is scheduled to be on the Caroline Rhea show on May 15. Don't Miss it!! IT should prove entertaining, and hopefully confirmation for the rumors we've been hearing about!!


A Tour, A little Levi, and a CD???
Latest news on the grapevine are rumors of a tour, Ms. M playing Dolly Levi in the ABC remake for TV of "Hello Dolly" and possibility of a CD
How trup are these rumors? Ahhhh who knows.. the T shirt wearing comedic genius who has called Bette his Muse has hinted at a few things, as well as other sources. Perhaps the BIGGEST rumor out there is that this is a Farewell Tour.. Bruce squashed that rumor for us thank GOODNESS!!
As far as it looks now, here is the most recent rumor (ooo let's hope is more than that)

Jan 10th 2003 - Tour kicks off in Boston
March/ April/ May - If Ms. M takes the Hello Dolly part, she'd be shooting in Australia (and it would probably air the following TV season from when it was shot so next year)
Summer 2003 tour hopefully resuming

And as for the CD rumor... nothing solid BUT... if one goes on tour, quite often it's to promote a new cd... it could be a late promotion of Bette, but here's hoping there's another.

HAIRSPRAY
Bette is an investor in Hairspray, the Musical set to open on Broadway. It's a Marc Shamain project so you know it'll be a great one! Keep an eye out for stories of the opening... can almost BETTE you'll see her.

More Awards for Ms. M On June 2, 2002, Bette received the Community Builders award from Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center for her work in restoring neglected parks, community gardens and open spaces, primarily in low-income neighborhoods of the city.

On June 6, 2002 Bette was honored by Governor George E. Pataki with the 2002 Parks and Preservation Award, which recognizes an individual, family or organization that has demonstrated outstanding commitment and generosity to New York's parks and historic sites. The award was accompanied by the announcement of large grants to go to NYRP for their continued effort in making NYC a beautiful place.
