Alright my friends and fellow fans. Over and over again, we say how much we want Miss M. to go back on tour, to make another movie, to release another cd, to put more clips on her site, or to re release more material to video.

We " want" this stuff to happen, but why? Because watching the Divine Miss M brings you enjoyment, her voice wraps around you no matter your mood and makes you happy, or just keeps you company while the tears flow? Maybe it's because her smile is contagious, and when she smiles the whole room smiles? Perhaps her sense of humor and attitude connect with you somehow. Any way you put it, she brings you enjoyment, right? And you call yourself a fan, collect things she's done, and wanna see more right?

Well, she shares so much of herself with us, don't you think we should show her some support? I mean sure, we can go to the movies, we can buy the cds, and go see her on tour, but how bout doing something that will really make her and the "powers that be" out there, know that she's got a pile of devoted fans who are willing to do something to show their support.

The online voting booths are a way to do that, but with what end? Nobody really sees them except other fans, why not do something with that same energy. You want to see more videos out, you want to see more of Ms. M, you want to have new video compilations, or a cd boxed set right? So wuit posting about it on the message boards and email groups AND DO SOMETHING about it.

When Ms. Midler was disgusted by the filth and garbage in NY parks, did she just whine about it and hope something would happen? NOPE, she started her own group NYRP and started picking up the garbage herself.

If she can set out to clean up the parks in NY, surely you can find a moment to send an email or a letter to show her some support in some of these things? Come rain or come shine, we gotta show support for the DIVINE Miss M.

Release Ol' Red Hair

Old Red Hair is back is a TV special from the late 1970's and exists only on poor quality VHS copies if you're lucky enough to find someone who has it. Want to see that released to video? I know I do! To request that a video of 'Ol Red Hair' be released go to programming@nbc.com and ask for a home video of NBC's GRAMMY winning show of Bette's from Dec 1977.

In your letter explain why you think Ms. M deserves to have her name there. Go into things like vast range of fans ages, musical styles and abilities, her stage performances, her versatility as a performer, and the amount of music she has put out there for the last 30 years.


Atlantic Records: Divine Collection

Bette Midler was with Atlantic for 25 years, and she had mentioned in her "Official Online chat on Yahoo" that they had been talking of releasing a boxed set of music from her years with them. But that she and they didn't know if there was enough interest in it
Well, how bout we start writing and showing them there IS interest in it. Interest not neccesarily for a collection of only the hits as sometimes happens, but rather a collection that includes the tracks from soundtracks like "Home Alone 2 : Somewhere in my Memory", "First Wives Club: You Don't Own Me", "Oliver and Co: Perfect Isn't Easy", "Hunchback of Notre Dame: God Help the OutCasts", "That Old Feeling: Somewhere along the way" etc. Songs that weren't available on a Ms. M cd, but rather one song in a collection of others on a soundtrack.
As well it would be nice to see songs (if they still exist) from her other movies, in which she sang but from which there were no available soundtracks, Jinxed, Stella, Big Business etc. As well as outtakes or whatever else they have. The boxed set would compliment, and add to greatly an already complete cd/record/cassette collection, don't ya think?
